6G WELDER

The 6G Welder is responsible for performing high-precision welding tasks on pipes and structural components using SMAW, GTAW, or other approved welding processes. This role ensures weld quality that meets international standards and project specifications, supporting both fabrication and maintenance activities. The position demands technical accuracy, adherence to safety guidelines, and effective coordination with supervisors, inspectors, and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret welding drawings, blueprints, WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), and project requirements accurately.
• Perform 6G position welding on pipes and structural materials using approved welding techniques and consumables.
• Conduct fit-up checks, joint preparation, and alignment to ensure welding accuracy.
• Inspect welds visually and support preparation for NDT tests such as RT, UT, or MPI as required.
• Ensure proper operation, care, and routine maintenance of welding tools, machines, and safety equipment.
• Identify welding defects, carry out repairs as instructed, and maintain quality standards throughout the job.
• Follow all safety guidelines, use PPE correctly, and report risks or incidents promptly.
• Coordinate with supervisors, fabricators, and QA/QC teams to meet project timelines and quality objectives.

Qualifications:

• Technical certificate, vocational qualification, or diploma in Welding or Metal Fabrication.
• 3–5 years of welding experience, including proven skill in 6G pipe welding.
• Strong proficiency in SMAW/GTAW or other relevant welding processes.
• Ability to read drawings and follow WPS accurately.
• Knowledge of weld quality standards and NDT requirements.
• Good coordination, precision, and safety awareness.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with fabrication and maintenance teams.
