The Motorcycle & Small Engine Mechanic is responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing motorcycles and small-engine equipment at the MOTOX Showroom. The role ensures that motorcycles and small-engine products are maintained in safe and reliable operating condition through accurate diagnosis, preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and proper service documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance of motorcycles and small-engine equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Inspect motorcycles and small-engine equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, fuel, lubrication, and starting-system faults.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using appropriate tools, testing equipment, and service procedures.
- Carry out repairs and replacement of engine components, braking systems, transmission components, drive systems, suspension, and other mechanical parts.
- Perform engine tune-ups, oil and filter changes, spark plug replacement, chain adjustment, and other routine service activities.
- Inspect and troubleshoot batteries, charging systems, ignition systems, wiring, switches, and other electrical components.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and ensure motorcycles are properly serviced and ready for customer delivery.
- Carry out final testing and operational checks after servicing and repairs to confirm proper equipment performance and safety.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection findings, parts used, and repair details for each motorcycle or small-engine unit.
- Identify required spare parts and consumables and coordinate with the showroom or stores team for timely availability.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in motorcycle servicing, small-engine repair, or automotive mechanical maintenance.
- Good knowledge of motorcycle engines, mechanical systems, and basic electrical systems.
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out servicing and repairs using appropriate tools.
- Ability to read basic technical and service information and follow manufacturer procedures.
- Good workshop safety, housekeeping, and tool-handling practices.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to complete service work within required timeframes.
