Team Leader – Concrete & Shuttering Works is responsible for managing and supervising all concrete pouring, formwork installation, and shuttering operations at the construction site, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and safety protocols. This role involves leading a skilled team, coordinating with other departments, monitoring material usage, and maintaining daily progress and compliance reports. The Team Leader will provide technical guidance, enforce best practices, and drive the workforce to meet project objectives efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Concrete & Shuttering Supervision

  • Supervise and oversee concrete works, including reinforcement placement, formwork erection, and shuttering activities.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation and execution of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor the curing process to maintain concrete quality and structural integrity.
  • Coordinate with other trades to avoid work conflicts and delays.

Workforce Management

  • Plan daily schedules and allocate tasks according to project priorities.
  • Lead, train, and mentor workers to improve efficiency and workmanship.
  • Monitor workforce productivity and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure timely task completion and resource optimization.

Safety Compliance

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and Maldives construction standards.
  • Conduct safety briefings and pre-work safety checks, including PPE compliance and formwork stability.
  • Identify hazards, report incidents, and take proactive measures for safe site operations.

Material & Equipment Management

  • Request and manage timely delivery of materials such as cement, aggregates, steel, and formwork panels.
  • Oversee proper handling, usage, and storage of materials to reduce waste.
  • Maintain and monitor tools and equipment inventory for the team.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate daily work records and material consumption logs.
  • Generate progress reports and report site challenges or deviations to the Construction Manager.
  • Coordinate with the quality control team for inspection and approval of completed work.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Supervision, or related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience in concrete works, formwork, and shuttering.
  • Prior experience in leading on-site construction teams.
  • Experience with high-rise or large-scale construction projects is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of coastal construction challenges (Maldives or similar environments).
