We are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineering Operations Lead to lead hydraulic and mechanical recoveries for major mobile equipment, including excavators, cranes, and marine hydraulic systems. The successful candidate will oversee the tear-down of cylinders, inspect shafts, confirm failures, and manage complex field repairs to reduce downtime. This role requires a hands-on leader who can independently drive solutions, manage a crew, and operate under tight deadlines to ensure the continuous operation of critical equipment.
Role & responsibilities:
Lead all hydraulic and mechanical recoveries for major mobile equipment (excavators, cranes, marine hydraulic systems)
Tear down cylinders, inspect shafts, confirm failures
Sequence complex field repairs across shifts and parallel tasks to reduce machine downtime
Escalate blockers with options
Drive preventive schedules and root cause reports that actually prevent recurrence
Operate like its their machine, their failure, their name on the result
Qualifications:
5-10 years hands-on experience repairing and leading breakdown recoveries of hydraulic equipment
Proven ability to read systems
Familiarity with oil contamination diagnosis, pressure calibration, and seal replacement workflows
Previous exposure to, ports, marine engineering, or military field repair roles preferred
Can manage a crew, get parts, improvise solutions, and deliver results under time pressure
No fear of getting dirty, no habit of waiting for someone else to decide
