We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Engineer to join our team with a focus on the repair and maintenance of land vehicles (light and heavy duty), earth moving equipment, and marine 2-stroke outboard engines. This role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of mechanical and electrical systems in vehicles and machinery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the repair and optimization of complex automotive systems and machinery in both industrial and marine environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on land vehicles (light and heavy duty), earth moving equipment, and marine 2-stroke outboard engines to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot issues in engine performance, powertrains, hydraulics, electrical systems, and other critical components.

  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians and maintenance staff to ensure effective and timely repairs and maintenance activities across all equipment.

  • Oversee major repairs, overhauls, and upgrades of automotive and marine systems, ensuring that all equipment operates at peak efficiency.

  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for land vehicles, earth moving machinery, and marine engines to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

  • Provide rapid response for urgent breakdowns or failures of equipment, ensuring minimal downtime in operations.

  • Monitor equipment performance regularly and provide feedback for any necessary adjustments or improvements to maintenance schedules or procedures.

  • Ensure that all repair and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental policies.

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment performance, ensuring that all documentation is up to date for future reference.

  • Provide technical support and training to other maintenance staff and operators on proper maintenance techniques, troubleshooting, and safe operating procedures for all machinery and engines.

  • Monitor the inventory of spare parts and manage orders for replacement components to ensure timely availability during maintenance activities.

  • After repairs, conduct testing to ensure that systems are functioning properly and meet performance and safety standards.

  • Promote and adhere to best practices for safety, environmental protection, and health regulations during all maintenance and repair activities.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of land vehicles (light/heavy duty), earth moving equipment, and marine 2-stroke outboard engines.

  • Strong knowledge of engine diagnostics, mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics, and electronic control systems used in vehicles and machinery.

  • Ability to identify mechanical and electrical issues and apply effective solutions quickly to restore equipment functionality.

  • Experience using diagnostic tools, hydraulic systems maintenance, and engine repair tools.

  • Knowledge of safety procedures and environmental compliance in relation to equipment maintenance and repair.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, operators, and management regarding the status of repair and maintenance activities.

  • Strong focus on precision and quality during all maintenance and repair work.
