April 10, 2025Full-timeDue on: April 25, 2025Location: K. Thilafushi

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA/QC Technician with expertise in fiberglass, resins, and composite materials to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality throughout the composite production process, ensuring that all fiberglass and resin-based products meet industry and customer specifications. This position will involve conducting inspections, testing, and defect tracking at every stage of production, including monitoring resin curing, tracking mix ratios, conducting surface inspections, and performing float and trim tests.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the resin curing process is correctly monitored, documented, and controlled to maintain the structural integrity and performance of the final composite product.

  • Track and verify the resin mix ratios, ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout the mixing process to achieve the desired quality and performance of the composite materials.

  • Conduct thorough surface inspections to identify any imperfections, bubbles, defects, or inconsistencies in the fiberglass or composite laminate, ensuring that the finished product meets the required quality standards.

  • Perform float and trim tests to confirm the composite structures are balanced, functional, and meet design tolerances, ensuring the final product performs as expected in marine environments.

  • Record any defects identified during inspections, track their resolution, and ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence, improving overall product quality.

  • Complete and maintain detailed QA checklists at every stage of the composite production process, ensuring that every step adheres to quality standards and best practices.

  • Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to ensure that quality control processes are followed. Provide feedback and solutions for resolving any quality issues that may arise during production.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Ensure 100% completion of the QA checklist, covering all aspects of resin, fiberglass, and composite testing, inspections, and defect tracking.

  • Achieve zero major defects at the time of delivery, ensuring all fiberglass and resin-based products meet both customer and industry standards.

  • Ensure that any variances are logged and remain within the design tolerances, verifying that the final composite product adheres to the intended specifications and criteria.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within the fiberglass, resin, or composite manufacturing industry, specifically in the production of marine structures or boat building.

  • Strong understanding of fiberglass, resins, and composite materials, including the various types of resins (e.g., polyester, epoxy) and fiberglass reinforcement techniques used in marine production.

  • Familiarity with the production process for marine composites, boat building, and related quality standards in the marine industry.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and work with technical drawings, composite material specifications, and production guidelines.

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on identifying and resolving defects in composite products, ensuring high standards of quality.

  • Knowledge of safety standards and protocols related to resin handling, fiberglass production, and composite manufacturing. Ability to work safely with hazardous materials such as resins, hardeners, and curing agents.

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, report findings, and provide feedback to improve quality processes.

  • Ability to perform detailed inspections in a manufacturing environment, including lifting materials and moving between different production areas. Comfortable working in environments with potential exposure to dust, noise, and chemicals.

Salary:

  • An attractive remuneration package will be offered, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Other Benefits:

  • Comprehensive Health Insurance coverage.

  • Opportunities for learning and self-development to expand your expertise in composite materials and quality control.

  • Career advancement opportunities as you grow within our company.
