Fit-Out & Rigging Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fit-Out & Rigging Technicians to join our team. These individuals will be responsible for taking boats from structural completion to functional handover, ensuring that all fit-out tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Key responsibilities include engine bed mounting, wiring, installing bilge pumps, fuel lines, seating, basic carpentry, and finishing tasks. The goal is to ensure that all systems are properly installed and functional for successful sea trials.

Responsibilities:

  • Install engine beds securely, ensuring proper alignment and stability.

  • Complete wiring for essential systems, ensuring proper connections for power, lighting, and other electrical components.

  • Install and test bilge pumps, fuel lines, and seating, ensuring that all components are secure and functional.

  • Perform basic carpentry work, including the installation of seats and trim, to meet design specifications.

  • Complete all remaining fit-out tasks and finishing touches to prepare the boat for handover.

  • Ensure that all systems are functional and perform basic tests to confirm their operation.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Ensure the entire fit-out process is completed within 10 days post-cure.

  • Achieve zero major rework upon sea trial, ensuring the boat is ready for functional use without significant issues.

  • Achieve a first-pass installation success rate of >90%, minimizing the need for corrections or adjustments after the initial installation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Relevant technical certifications or training in fit-out, rigging, or mechanical systems.

  • Proven experience in boat fit-out, rigging, and systems installation, preferably in the marine industry.

  • Knowledge of marine electrical systems, bilge pumps, fuel lines, seating, and carpentry.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.

  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy components when needed.

  • Ability to work in a hands-on environment, including lifting and moving materials and tools.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and various weather conditions, as required by the job.
