Marine Carpenter - Mold Builder

We are looking for an experienced Marine Carpenters to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for accelerating the construction of molds, plugs, and internal furniture to improve production efficiency and reduce the layout cycle. This includes creating structural supports, engine base frames, roofs, dashboards, benches, and other essential components. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the overall production process, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and prepare molds, plugs, and internal furniture, including components such as engine base frames, roofs, dashboards, and benches.

  • Create and install structural supports for various components to ensure stability and functionality.

  • Prepare molds for use in production, ensuring accuracy and readiness for the layup process.

  • Construct internal furniture pieces, ensuring they meet design specifications and are securely mounted.

  • Ensure all components are built to precise dimensions, with minimal variance.

  • Work closely with other teams (engineering, design, and production) to ensure smooth integration of components into the boat construction process.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Complete mold preparation with a lead time of less than 5 days, ensuring efficiency and quick turnaround.

  • Keep plug dimension variance to less than 2%, maintaining high precision in mold and plug construction.

  • Ensure jigs are ready and fully prepared before hull delivery, ensuring seamless integration with the production timeline.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven experience in marine carpentry, mold building, or a similar carpentry or construction role, preferably within the marine industry.

  • Strong understanding of mold and plug construction processes and materials.

  • Experience in building and installing structural supports, base frames, and other critical components.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

  • Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools, including carpentry tools, saws, drills, and sanders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to work in a safe, efficient manner.

  • Ability to work with heavy materials and tools.

  • Must be able to lift and move components as required, sometimes in challenging work environments.

  • Ability to perform detailed work and maneuver in confined spaces as necessary.
