Batching Plant Operator

The Batching Plant Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the concrete batching plant to ensure efficient production of ready-mix concrete according to project specifications and quality standards. The role involves managing raw materials, monitoring equipment, and ensuring timely delivery of concrete to site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the batching plant machinery to produce concrete as per required mix designs.
  • Monitor and control all batching plant operations including loading, mixing, and discharging.
  • Ensure all raw materials (cement, aggregates, water, admixtures) are available and stored correctly.
  • Conduct routine checks and calibrations of batching equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Record daily production data, materials usage, and any operational issues in logs or plant software.
  • Communicate with the quality control team to ensure compliance with concrete mix specifications.
  • Coordinate with site personnel for timely dispatch and delivery of concrete.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of plant machinery.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards during plant operations.
  • Report any mechanical failures or safety incidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Follow company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or technical certificate in mechanical or civil engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in operating a concrete batching plant.
  • Knowledge of concrete mix design and batching processes.
  • Familiarity with computerized batching systems and plant control software.
  • Ability to understand construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Basic mechanical skills to handle minor repairs and plant maintenance.
