Assistant Industrial Mechanic

The Assistant Industrial Mechanic supports the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment within the batching plant. This role ensures smooth plant operations by assisting with routine servicing, emergency repairs, and equipment monitoring under the supervision of senior mechanics or the maintenance supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of plant machinery such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, and silos.
• Support routine lubrication and servicing of mechanical parts and systems.
• Help diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues under supervision.
• Assist in replacing worn-out or faulty components such as belts, bearings, valves, and fittings.
• Aid in maintaining proper functioning of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Follow daily maintenance checklists and update logs and reports.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of tools and spare parts.
• Support senior mechanics during breakdowns, emergency repairs, and equipment installations.
• Comply with all safety standards and use PPE during maintenance work.
• Report any hazards or equipment issues to supervisors immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance area.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High school diploma or vocational certificate in mechanical maintenance or industrial technology.
• 1–2 years of mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in a batching plant or industrial environment.
• Basic understanding of mechanical tools, parts, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions, technical manuals, and safety protocols.
• Physically fit to work in industrial settings (lifting, bending, climbing, etc.).
• Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.
