Mechanical Technician

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical equipment used in the concrete batching plant. This includes ensuring the optimal functioning of plant machinery such as mixers, conveyors, silos, pumps, and hydraulic systems. The role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and maintaining consistent plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults in batching plant equipment.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance of mixers, conveyors, compressors, and other plant systems.
• Install, adjust, and replace mechanical components including bearings, gearboxes, motors, valves, and hydraulic parts.
• Monitor the condition of machinery and recommend maintenance actions to prevent breakdowns.
• Maintain logs of repair works, parts replaced, and maintenance activities.
• Work closely with the operations team to ensure plant efficiency and minimal downtime.
• Ensure all mechanical repairs and maintenance are performed in compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in the calibration and alignment of mechanical systems.
• Keep the maintenance workshop organized and ensure proper storage of tools and parts.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and mechanical failures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Technical diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
• 2–4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a concrete batching plant or similar industrial setup.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and industrial maintenance practices.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards in an industrial environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
