Marine Systems Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Marine Systems Architect to oversee, design, and optimize all engineering systems across our marine fleet. The role involves ensuring system reliability, establishing engineering standards, guiding technical decision-making, and driving performance improvements across a mixed fleet including barges, landing craft, and fuel vessels.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall architecture and engineering direction for all marine systems, including propulsion, electrical, hydraulics, pumps, bilge, hull, and fuel systems.
  • Develop and implement engineering standards, preventive maintenance systems (PMS), QA/QC frameworks, and technical specification sheets.
  • Evaluate, redesign, and optimize weak system areas to improve performance, safety, and operational reliability.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and guide engineering teams in timely and effective resolution.
  • Reduce downtime by establishing strong reliability and maintenance strategies.
  • Review technical documentation, design plans, and system layouts to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with fleet management, shipyards, and technical teams to support upgrades, repairs, and system modifications.
  • Prepare engineering reports and recommendations for management, highlighting improvements and critical decisions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma/Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in marine systems engineering, preferably across a mixed fleet (barges, landing craft, fuel vessels).
  • Deep technical knowledge of propulsion, electrical systems, hydraulics, pumps, bilge, hull integrity, and fuel systems.
  • Strong ability to design standards, maintenance frameworks, QA/QC systems, and engineering documentation.
  • Proven track record in troubleshooting, system redesign, and reducing fleet downtime.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and technical decision-making skills.

Salary:

  • USD 3,500 – 4,500 per month.
